Yesterday I shared with you my recent find on a shopping trip to HomeGoods. With just one week remaining in the One Room Challenge, it’s crunch time with the dining room makeover. I found a few great pieces that will help me finish it off nicely, as well as a few unexpected pieces. Click here to see yesterday’s post incase you missed it.
Here is one of the unexpected finds. A pig! I just couldn’t resist! My son Josh named her Waddles. Lol
At only $19.99 it wasn’t a great financial set back, even though I still am not sure if I will use it in the reveal of the dining room or not.
I was surprised by all the positive comments about my pig, and so she just might be staying in the space! But I need your help deciding……Is the pig a yay or a nay and why? Where would you use the pig in your home if at all?
Here are a few more pictures to help you decide
I couldn’t say no to that face “take me home” she whispered.
Doesn’t she look really playful?
There she is as part of the vignette on the sideboard. It is still a work in progress but hopefully you get the idea.
So is Waddles a keeper? Yay or nay? Leave me a comment below!
Stay tuned for the big reveal of the dining room for the One Room Challenge on Thursday May 8th, and you will see if Waddles made it into the finished design
Wishing you all a happy Friday and an awesome weekend!
Be Inspired!
I love the pig. We used to have piglet pets when we were children.
A pig sculpture can have so many meanings in a dining room, including “pork, it’s what’s for dinner,” “don’t eat like a pig” and “quit hogging the mashed potatoes!” I think the pig is a keeper … and a conversation starter!
A definite yay! I would have been drawn towards it, too. It’s wicked cute.
Yes yes yes! If for some odd reason you decide against keeping him, Waddles is welcome to live at my house!
Oh, Waddles is adorable! I say keep her! My cousin would absolutely flip if he saw her, he is a collector of all things pig
I’m so happy to see that so many people say yay to Waddles! He makes a delightful addition to that arrangement especially with his playful stance!
I love the pig but I have to admit I am horrible at decorating. The pig shows a little bit of the cute side of personality.
Yay! I think the pig is too cute and I would display it at my house proudly.
The pig is unique… It’s a keeper..
I absolutely love WADDLES! I commented on your post from yesterday saying how awesome of a statement piece it is.
Yay! I would have probably said nay if I didn’t see your pics.
I think Waddles is super cute, so a definite “yay.” The pig is unexpected and whimsical. And perfect.
Definitely a yay! I think it’s adorable and it adds fun to the room! I would definitely use it in either my dining room or kitchen. So cute!
I am all for the pig. Waddles is cute!
I actually like the pig. However, I feel like he’s naked! I’d probably paint like polka dots on him, or make him glittery. I’m a little crazy like that though!
hmm. Can I say both Yay and Nay. I like the pig and it is obvious that you do too. So, Yay! However if this is for a decorating challenge I might say no. With the Pig, the ceramics, and the glass vases there is a lot going on. Also the plants are kind of blocking the pictures. Without the pig you could put the vases on the outside, the ceramics int eh middle and make more of the pictures visible. So Nay for including it in the reveal. Unless of course you can find a better spot.
But definitely keep it.
well, i hadn’t thought about these points. but i agree. so yay for piggie, but maybe not there.
That pig definitely could add some character to a room.
I do think Waddles is a keeper! She is adorable, playful, and interesting – all without being too obvious or kitschy.
Definitely Yay! That is such an adorable find! It adds whimsy and fun to the room.
I like the pig! I’m no good at using whimsical details in my decorating, but I’m all for you keeping her in the dining room.
I have an aunt that loves pigs. She’d love that piece!
The pig is a keeper. He’s super cute! And he goes well with the other pieces up there nicely.
Waddles is so cute! I am not sure that I would love her in my own house, but she is adorable in the space you set her up in. What a fun feature piece
Yay to the pig! I love it!
I’ve actually Google it at my place. i just want those piggy!
I want that pig more than anything; it looks so damn awesome!
I think the pig is cute. He’s a little big, but still adorable!
I’d say that it’s actually a YAY – super cute!
love the addition i’ve just recently discovered home goods.
Piggie is cute…Is the house a farm theme?
YAY! You know why? I the same pig on my kitchen table… he doesn’t have a name yet, but he is best buddies with Roostie, my large ceramic rooster!
I love him! He is so cute and I would totally name him too.
Waddles stays! The pig definitely livens things up.
It brings some more character to the room, I love it!
I love the pig. I may move him to a bottom shelf, same side, but def keep him.
The pig should stay. Give him a name too!
YAY! Your design can pull it off and it looks fun and unique!
Well, she blends nicely, but I’m not a fan of pigs, so I wouldn’t have it. But still cute!
I think she brings fun and lightness to the room. She goes terrificly with everything else and makes an humorous accent. She’s a definite keeper!
The pig was definitely my favorite item you wrote about in your last post:) He definitely livens up the room and makes me smile!!
Yay for the pig because it goes really well in the room. I personally love birds so I want to try not to be biased!
I saw this pig in one of your other posts and totally loved it. So I say ya!
I love white ceramic animals.
If you love the pig who cares if anyone else thinks she isn’t their thing, rock her in your home.
Uh oh…looks like I’ll be in the minority here, but I say nay to the pig. Waddles blends with the other items in the room, but I’m just not a fan of the pig.
I like the pig, I think he needs company or he would look out of place.
I may want to add a little white chicken on the bottom shelf or …
Keep her! She’s a unique addition to your vignette, and she’s so cute! I love her.
It brings something unique to the decor..oink oink..yes!
i love that you are so creative and found something that goes for anytime of the year!
I’m not sure about this one, but it seems by popular decision that the pig is a go.
I think it looks great. I love how it matches the other pieces in the display
I say keep the pig. He is cute and he goes well with the rest of the pieces.
Yay, yay, yay! I love that pig! Definitely keep it!
I think it’s a great ‘conversational’ piece, and it’s cute! Definitely keep the Waddles! lol
For me it’s a No. If it was about 10% smaller I might be a yes. But to me it feels slightly too big.
The pig is a cutie, let it stay. It is a touch of what the . . .??? that makes a place interesting.
Thanks so much for all your comments and input about Waddles. I really appreciate you all taking the time to express your opinions
