Yay or Nay To The Pig?

Yesterday I shared with you my recent find on a shopping trip to HomeGoods. With just one week remaining in the One Room Challenge, it’s crunch time with the dining room makeover. I found a few great pieces that will help me finish it off nicely, as well as a few unexpected pieces. Click here to see yesterday’s post incase you missed it.

Here is one of the unexpected finds. A pig! I just couldn’t resist! My son Josh named her Waddles. Lol

My New Pig

At only $19.99 it wasn’t  a great financial set back, even though I still am not sure if I will use it in the reveal of the dining room or not.

I was surprised by all the positive comments about my pig, and so she just might be staying in the space! But I need your help deciding……Is the pig a yay or a nay and why? Where would you use the pig in your home if at all?

Here are a few more pictures to help you decide

I couldn’t say no to that face “take me home” she whispered.  :-)

Doesn’t she look really playful?

There she is as part of the vignette on the sideboard. It is still a work in progress but hopefully you get the idea.

So is Waddles a keeper? Yay or nay? Leave me a comment below!

Stay tuned for the big reveal of the dining room for the One Room Challenge on Thursday May 8th, and you will see if Waddles made it into the finished design :-)

Wishing you all a happy Friday and an awesome weekend!

Be Inspired!

  1. A pig sculpture can have so many meanings in a dining room, including “pork, it’s what’s for dinner,” “don’t eat like a pig” and “quit hogging the mashed potatoes!” I think the pig is a keeper … and a conversation starter!

  2. I’m so happy to see that so many people say yay to Waddles! He makes a delightful addition to that arrangement especially with his playful stance!

  3. Definitely a yay! I think it’s adorable and it adds fun to the room! I would definitely use it in either my dining room or kitchen. So cute!

  4. hmm. Can I say both Yay and Nay. I like the pig and it is obvious that you do too. So, Yay! However if this is for a decorating challenge I might say no. With the Pig, the ceramics, and the glass vases there is a lot going on. Also the plants are kind of blocking the pictures. Without the pig you could put the vases on the outside, the ceramics int eh middle and make more of the pictures visible. So Nay for including it in the reveal. Unless of course you can find a better spot.

    But definitely keep it. :-)

  5. YAY! You know why? I the same pig on my kitchen table… he doesn’t have a name yet, but he is best buddies with Roostie, my large ceramic rooster!

  6. Uh oh…looks like I’ll be in the minority here, but I say nay to the pig. Waddles blends with the other items in the room, but I’m just not a fan of the pig.
