One Room Challenge: Studio Dining Room Week 5

It’s week 5 of the One Room Challenge! Wow! What a ride it’s been.

My studio dining room has come a long way since week 1 and it’s getting closer to being finished. Just one more week to the big reveal!

You can check the progress here: week 1, week 2, week 3 and week 4 One Room Challenge What have I been up to this week? Let’s see…….. Well I paid a visit to one of my favorite haunts for last minute accessories.

Accessories Shopping

Can you guess where this is? Yep, you got it…….HomeGoods.

Check out one of the more interesting finds during my shopping trip

My New Pig

I have no idea yet if I will be using the pig in the dining room, but I just couldn’t resist….and for just $19.99, she had to come home with me :-)

I also picked up a few more white wares

More White Loveliness :-)

The beloved lamp that I was planning to order for the space, would not have arrived in time, so I had to choose a different lamp. I picked this one up at HomeGoods for $49.99. It is the perfect height for the awkward corner.

Plan B Lamp

I got the orders in for the topiaries and wreaths, so fingers crossed that they arrive in time.

My drapery workroom is still working on the box pleat table skirt for the DIY console as well as a couple of custom pillows.

I ordered a few pillow covers from Ballard Designs, and they arrived just yesterday

Ballard Design Pillow Covers

I love the frog closure detail on the blue pillow cover. I can’t wait until the others are completed.

My daughter’s cow art will remain in the room. She drew this about 3 or 4 years ago as an entry for the Houston Rodeo. It has been sitting around with some of her other pieces so I decided to put it to good use. I framed it in an Ikea frame and hung it a few weeks ago. She insists that she doesn’t like it, but I love it. It is one of my favorite pieces she’s done.

  1. We don’t have any Home Goods near us, the closest is in the Chicago area. But we do love to visit the store when we are in the area.

  2. I love those blues and browns you’ve picked out for the pillows!!! I need to get serious about redoing the rooms in our house. Seeing this post makes me want to get in gear and start with my bedroom today! :)

  3. I am obsessed with Homegoods. I can always find amazing pieces there. A while ago I found a side table there that I am head over heels for. We moved 3x since then, she has a few scratches. I refuse to get rid of her. I have been searching online for someone to revamp it, no luck yet.

  5. This all looks fantastic and I can’t wait for the final reveal! I love all the accessories you chose!

  6. That piggy sure is cute – my mom would love that – we have something similar but its in pink, haha!

  7. I can see why you wanted the pig to go home with you, she’s a cutie. That’s nice that you framed your daughter’s art. We have a couple of framed pieces in our house too that the kids made. :)
