Fingers Crossed For My Laptop

Well today my laptop decided to quit on me, just as I was getting ready to write my blog post for my weekly Tip for Tuesday series.

It has served me well for the past 4 years or so and it may be time for an upgrade. My whole life is on my laptop – pictures, files, documents, presentations and so much more, and at this point it’s like a family member :-)

I am running an anti-malware check and hoping to get it back up and running soon. So keep your fingers…… And toes crossed for me!

Thanks to my iPad I can get this short post out today!

Oh and before I forget, happy Earth Day! And happy birthday to my little hot doggie Rufus. He turns 5 today!!

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

Be Inspired!

  1. Sorry to hear that!! My pc died 1 year ago and I have since been using my hubby’s laptop. Funny thing is, he works in IT but HATES having to work on pc when he is home from work! Happy Earth Day to you too!! =)

  2. Computers really should last more than 4 years. My last one served me well for over a decade, allowing me to skip an entire operating system (Vista).

  3. My computer did the same thing to me before Christmas. It just DIED and was flooded with viruses before hand. I hope you get it sorted out or upgrade soon!

  4. I have had to have Staples save me 2x. Their “real” recommendations for virus fighting software (not the company recommendation) has since saved me, knock on wood I didn’t juts jinx it!

  5. After having a laptop die on me about 5 years ago, I invested in an external hard drive to back up everything. I hope you can still access your photos, videos, etc. It’s sad to have them gone due to a technical issue.

  6. Good luck on your laptop! I recently purchased a new laptop because my screen broke and considering it was an old an outdated laptop anyway I figured it was time for a new one. There is nothing more frustrating than having computer issues so I can definitely feel your pain!

  7. Okay first – back up your files and never have them stored locally unless you back them up regularly. I worked in IT for years and the thing I hated most about my job was telling someone they lost all of their photos/memories. I have 4 different external hard drives that I back files up to as well as online storage – overkill yes but better safe than sorry. Good luck on getting it fixed or finding a new one.

  8. Happy birthday to your adorable Rufus!

I know how horrible it can be to have your pc/laptop expire with all of your family photos and contacts. I hope you can get your s up and running again soon!

  9. I’m right there with you on the computer issues. My desktop refuses to start Windows. It keeps going back to the blue screen. Fortunately I have Carbonite!

  10. Oh no. I feel your pain somewhat right now with computer problems. Luckily, I have decent backup but am getting tired of fooling with my desktop for a solution.

  11. When my Apple laptop died in the fall of 2006, I lost an entire year’s work – the second volume in my Aunt Phil’s Trunk Alaska history series … all 376 pages .. gone. Even a genius computer guy could not retrieve anything on it. I had saved a draft in a CD 90 days before, but I’d made many changes. That’s when I learned the valuable lesson of backing up regularly. And I bought an external hard drive on which to save to at least once a week. Fingers crossed that your files will all be recovered.

  12. Oh NO!! That is the worst! I’m so sorry. To keep from jinxing myself, I won’t comment about the life of my laptop… Let’s just say I keep holding my breath. lol

  13. I hope that you are able to salvage your documents and other important items from your laptop! A new laptop is always fun, too :) And your dog Rufus – so CUTE!

  14. Oh no! Prayers it gets fixed quickly! I can’t work from my tablets. Just can’t do it. My last laptop died and I’ve been wanting to get a Mac. Working from my desktop until I get it!

  15. Fingers crossed for you! About a year ago, my computer crashed and I lost so much. It’s so scary because basically my entire life was on that thing! Ok, maybe not my entire life, but a lot of it!

  16. Hopefully you will at least get to back up your files and photos. After going through my third computer in three years I finally just bought a Mac – it’s been the only laptop to ever be able to keep up with me.

  18. Happy Birthday to your pup! I hope everything is okay with your computer. When your life is on a device, it’s catastrophic when it stops working!

  19. Good luck getting your laptop back in running order. It’s a shame that people love to send us stuff that can destroy them.
