Monday Motivation

After a pretty rough weekend, I needed a bit of motivation to get my day going today.

I’m sure I am not alone, so I wanted to share a few pick-me-up quotes for today.

Have you ever had one of these days?

I had to remind myself that it is ok to feel pain. It is not a sign of weakness. It is how I handle that pain that matters. I choose to get up today and keep doing what I love.

Beautiful, calm and soothing interior spaces always inspire and motivate me. There’s nothing that gets my juices flowing again like picking up a design book or magazine and looking at beautiful images, or playing with beautiful tactile fabrics in my design studio. Strange but true :-)

What is it you like to do as a pick-me-upper?

Spending some time praying and reading my Bible always gets me through any obstacles I face and remind me that I am not alone. It is what keeps me grounded and I always feel love, protection and strength.

If you have been having a rough day, I hope you find some encouragement and motivation to press on. Remember to be thankful regardless of what you are going through, and that you are never alone.

Love you all! :-)

  1. The first one, I am sad, hurt, angry mad,… etc. Hits home. I just went through some things with my Inlaws that really hurt and I am having a hard time getting over it. I will survive, but it sure makes me look at things a little differently.

  2. Yoga always helps me focus on what is important and get rid of the negativity. I remind myself that “my issues” aren’t someone else’s – and I’m not going allow someone to dictate how I feel. It’s hard work, but so worth it once you get to that point.

  3. I think everyone experiences days like these from time-to-time. I had a wonderful weekend so I am just trying to readjust to normal life again. We took a trip to the ocean and it was so peaceful.

  4. Perfect timing as today and the last few days have been hard with our move. I need the strength to make it through. I love the inspirational pieces, I will be using one as a background to help brighten my day – thank you.

  5. Good quotes, especially ‘the struggle you’re in today….’ Knowing this too shall pass makes it easier to handle. I get on my Harley when I need to clear the mind and let go of ‘stuff’.

    • Color is such a personal thing and sometimes people react differently to the same color. In general a deep (wine) red would not be calming but more exciting. That’s why it’s often used in dining rooms and living rooms and not so much in a bedroom. But personally darker colors for me are very soothing depending on how the rest of the room is decorated.

    • Thanks Lisa, but the rooms featured are not my work. The source is cited as the caption for each one. They were two lovely rooms I came across while browsing. They are great color choices!

  6. We all go through times likes this. It helps to be surrounded by people who wish you well so that even if you are having a hard time you know they have your back. Whenever I feel down I count my blessings. I try not to let my sorrow stay over for the night lol just have it over for tea and kick that sucker out! I love your choices of quotes! You appear to be a very strong woman! I know you won’t let any thing get you down for too long!

  7. Really sorry you had a disappointing weekend but a positive attitude on Monday is a way to get back on track. I think surrounding yourself in a peaceful environment that is uplifting really helps,

  8. Hi Veronica,
I loved this article. I love your graphics and how you tied your theme of a rough Monday into what you do. Thanks for sharing this. My favorite quote was, “The struggle your in today is developing the strength you’ll need for tomorrow”. Thanks again. :)

  9. If it’s another person who left me feeling that way, I pray for the person. That always makes me feel better. Immersing myself in something helps too…music, a good read, building something w/the kids. :) I’m sorry you had something upset you. :(

  10. I think we all have those knock down days, but you have some great quotes up there to inspire you to push on. When I am down, I talk it out with my husband or best friend. It’s nice to get a different perspective on things.

  11. Love these quotes…especially the last one. (plus I love the colors in it!) When I’m down I like to go out and take a walk — fresh air helps (as long as it isn’t below 0!!!)

  12. I have always been one to cry my eyes out but once I am done crying, I can usually move on. These pieces of motivation are exactly how I feel about life. Its okay how you are feeling, but to be strong you have to move on.
