It’s the start of another busy week of sourcing items for new clients, new consultations with prospective clients, networking events and meetings with Sales Reps. Wheewww! Busy is good
I am working on the master bedroom suite for a great client for whom I am decorating most of their home, plus an investment property they are having built.
It’s an exciting time for my business, especially when you get to work with wonderful clients who wholeheartedly trust your abilities to creating the home of their dreams. I will be sharing professional photos when all the projects we are working on have been completed.
In the meantime, I am curious to know, which bed would you choose for this master bedroom.
Here’s a little bit about the project
My clients observe Feng Shui principles, and so the bed had to be either metal or the color of metal. They loved the look of an upholstered headboard, but not necessarily the tufted styles. The bedroom had to be a great blend of feminine romance and a bit of masculinity. A low footboard, if any because the husband is really tall. They love clean lines and an uncluttered look with soft colors in the gray family.
The backdrop to this bed will be a beautiful metallic gray damask wallpaper on cork, in a very tone on tone color scheme. The wallpaper is a great mix of elegance, romance and a tiny bit of rustic…..exactly their style.
So which bed did we choose? Better yet, which one would you choose?
Here’s the lineup
First up is this beautiful bed from Stanley Furniture, available in two colors
Next is this French inspired panel bed from Lexington
Next is this unique metal canopy bed from Oly Studio. Available in different finishes and fabric options
Next is this clean lined, yet rustic bed from Restoration Hardware. Available in several finishes and fabric options
Next an upholstered headboard with nail head detail from Ballard Designs. Available in several fabric options
And finally, this romantic French style bed from Restoration Hardware. Only available in the finish shown
This king size bed, along with the wallpaper will be anchoring a very large wall that is over 21′ wide and 9′ tall. The bedding will be all white washed linen fabrics with a high thread count, and maybe 2 accent pillow shams pulling in the colors of the wallpaper. We are adding a long tufted bench at the foot of the bed. We are using two mismatched night stands – one is a large chest for his side and a vanity table for her side. A dresser will be facing the bed on the opposite wall and there will be a seating area by the windows. Of course window treatments will be added to complete the look of this master bedroom.
So, with all that said, put on your designer cap and tell us which bed would you choose to complete this master bedroom? Choose wisely
We are just in the beginning stage of this master suite, but I will be sharing with you soon which bed we chose. And of course, pictures when it’s all complete
Hope you all have a productive week!

Happy Monday!
Be Inspired!
I would choose the second bed. It’s more fancy in my opinion.
I was debating on the French inspired panel bed from Lexington or the rustic bed from Restoration Hardware. My choice would be the French inspired panel bed. I think the wallpaper has enough going on in it and the solid color of the bed frame will even out the look.
Love the first one!..shows simplicity and elegance.
I have always wanted a canopy bed, but I live in a cape, so it won’t fit in the bedroom with our slanted ceilings!
The French Panel is my favorite from the selection. It is similar to the one I made myself!
I tend to go for the simple. In my opinion, if you start out simple, you can add pillows etc to make it more beautiful.
None of the above (Sorry)
Is the Oly Studio comes in black, I would love to have that bed.
Of the ones above I think the first one would be best for them–I personally like the canopy bed but it would be hard to surround the bed in fabric that does not clash with that beautiful wallpaper.
if i really had to choose i would go with the French bed.. but i really do not have an eye for any of this..
Either the clean line and french style would be my favorite – given the chance. I like it simple but has this style to it.
Love the fabric too. I definitely would have a lovely and peaceful sleep with those.
They’re all nice, but I think I’d pick the first one. That last one is really interesting too though…tough choice!
I love the wallpaper…and I would go with the second bed, the French one. It’s classy, masculine and feminine, yet meaty and sturdy!
Oh…How I love the french bed! Restoration Hardware…ummm never would have thought! Thanks for the beautiful beds!
I would choose the canopy bed because I just love them! There is something romantic about them to me. Based on what you wrote about your clients, I would go with the second bed you posted. Good luck! Can’t wait to see the finished products!
Oh my goodness, those are such hard choices! I would go with the French inspired panel bed from Lexington or the metal canopy bed from Oly Studio. Cause I’ve always wanted a bed frame like those.
They are different indeed, showing diversity taste and approach to design that gives us opportunity to know other options!
I love the first two restoration hardware beds. I would gladly have one of those for my own!
The Lexington is gorgeous. That is the one that I would choose for myself.
I’m going to have to choose none of the above. My taste is more Scandinavian and I love beds that are raised.
The third bed with the bed post it looks like a princess bed. I would trow a white or some pale colored wrap around the polls to make it look more elegant. Plus it looks more expensive
If I have to choose one of the above it would be the 2nd one:) I am with Mel on this one, raised, I can hardly get into mine it is so high:)
My personal favorite is the Lexington! I need that in MY bedroom LOL But I think go with the wallpaper I would personally choose the bed from Restoration Hardware.
I love the two French beds. They’re exactly my style! They’re all beautiful though.
I really love the second bed.
I like the 4th one listed. That’s a nice one. Not really sure I’d even think about the others.
I am loving the Metallic Damask on Cork Wallpaper how gorgeous is that – I could just imagine it in my bedroom. x
I like a more traditional furniture….The Lexington is my choice.
You always provide such good choices for your clients and their needs. I like traditional, but the French has me intrigued!
I love simplistic and contemporary designs. So I am going to have to say I like the first bed. It looks like wood but appears very metal like.
A true romantic- I choose the last one, the French style bed.
I love all of these beds!! I would feel so luxurious sleeping in one of them.
I love the French beds! I want one so badly now. You’re a fantastic designer!!!
Definitely agree.. BUT my kids and cat dictate that white is out!
I like the romantic French style bed from Restoration Hardware. It has a clean style.
I think I like the French panel design the most. You know what you’re doing though, and I’m sure don’t!
Thanks for all your great comments and your input on which bed you would choose. I am always intrigued by how individual and unique each person’s taste and style is
i’ve been waiting for this! so interested to hear more about what you do as a decorator and the specifics of it all. fascinating and fun!
I would choose either the second one or the last one! You hoave great ideas!
I love the French panel bed from Lexington. The dark wood looks really rich and I think it would fit perfectly with the decor in my bedroom.
I like the canopy bed, I have always had a hankering for these.
For them, the first bed just like kind of “feng shui-y” to me. For me, the last bed, the French style is romantic without being too sappy. For the other side of me (I am a split personality), the second, Lexington, bed – very sexy.
I prefer the French Inspired or the clean look by Restoration Hardware:)
I am really not good at design. I don’t like making a lot of decisions. I would love it if someone could just have everything picked out and ready for me when I am remodeling or choosing new furniture. Of the beds above, i love the rustic bed from Restoration Hardware. I look forward to seeing more about this project.
Well i do not know which one you picked but i would choose French inspired panel bed from Lexington that is one beautiful bed
I love the french style. Right now I have don’t even have a foot board or head board…Makes me super sad because I have always wanted a beautiful bed. Maybe one day!
I love the french inspired victorian bed. I like the older styles. They look more distinguished to me. Make your room look more rich in my opinion. They’re all nice but that’s my favorite.
cool beds I love the one that looks kind of like an old 18th century one
Those beds are so pretty! I usually go for very plain and simple styles but you’re giving me other ideas now!
Too hard to choose! I love the design of the last one, it looks like a sleigh. But I’d want it with the overall style of the second one. Who am I kidding, any of them are better than mattress and box-spring on a boring rail shoved against the wall!
I love the rustic bed from Restoration Hardware because of the clean lines and simplicity. I like to not have too many distractions at bedtime so busy posts or linens
The French inspired panel bed for me … can’t wait to see the finished your choice and the finished room x
