Have you thought about what you will be getting your sweetie for Valentine’s day? Or better yet, what your sweetie will be getting you? A room makeover you say? Of course! That’s a no brainer!
Isn’t that what we all want for Valentine’s Day?
Just go with me on this one, OK? Even if it’s really diamonds you want, or a trip to Paris, or even love coupons…..let’s just pretend you all want your sweeties to give you the awesome services of Casa Vilora Interiors as your special gift
Ok, so now that we know what’s on everyone’s Valentine’s Day wish list, how do you go about getting it? Well through manipulating asking nicely of course!
Here is your guide to getting Casa Vilora Interiors for Valentine’s Day (it is what you want, it is what you want….you’re getting veeerrry sleepy )
- Drop subtle hints, and depending on how stubborn your sweetie is, not so subtle hints. Example: “Wow honey, this picture gallery on Pinterest would look great in our living room”. Or, “It sure would be nice having some draperies up to block the afternoon sun”. Or, “life would be so much easier with that new kitchen we’ve been talking about”
- Start doing stuff on your own hoping he’ll just give you the green light to hire a Decorator because he doesn’t want to help. And don’t pretend like you’ve never done it before with the honey-do list. Yeah, we’ve all done it
- Get the kids to whine about not being able to find anything because nothing’s organized. Ok maybe not, this is bordering on bad parenting
- Talk a lot about the new draperies the Jones’ just got installed. Keeping up with the Jones’ is the American way. Why not use it to get the decorating projects going?
- Call the cable company and have all sports channels replaced with home decorating channels. If that doesn’t do it, nothing else will
- Take him shopping and give him a choice between shoe shopping or shopping for that new sofa. He’ll make the right choice, and you’ll win either way
- Promise him that the boys can come over for football parties if the game room was nicely decorated. He doesn’t have to know that by boys, you mean your girls
- Create design inspiration boards on Pinterest using his computer, and leave it up as his screensaver
Hey, it’s probably better than what he could potentially have as a screensaver (if you know what I mean
)
- Compliment him about how awesome he would look in that new leather recliner. Because we all know that a leather recliner is the real way to a man’s heart
- Promise him plenty of romance if only you had a romantic master bedroom suite. Need I say more?
- Threaten to call his mamma to complain. Because sometimes you gotta pull out the big guns.
I welcome any additions to our guide to getting exactly what you want for Valentine’s Day. Go on……you know you have a few tried and true ones up your sleeves
Clearly this post was geared towards my female readers, and of course all in good fun! So please don’t manipulate your spouses and definitely don’t call their mamma to complain

These are awesome suggestions!! Now all I need is a guy to give all those subtle hints to, hehe. I’m not in any hurry, though, so I’ve pinned this for future reference : ).
Thank you! Maybe next year you’ll get to use these suggestions
Very cute post and a very good marketing strategy! I can actually see some of those suggestions working with a couple of guys I’ve dated over the years—right now I’m single and live with my cat so don’t have to worry about Valentine’s Day-except for the flowers and dinner I always get my Mom–and at 91 she has finished decorating her apartment!
Thank you! It’s nice that you do things with your mom! Very nice.
Excellent tips and I bet most of these work, too! My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day at all, so he’s off the hook
Lol. Thanks Robin!
Yeah, awesome tips for valentine day!
Thank you!
For me – I tend to drop subtle hints and most of the time, it works out well hehe he’s truly an open person to me hehehe
It’s great that subtle hints work with him
My husband tends to go with the getaways. I love that about him. I’ve been doing some redecorating to my home since I’m selling it. And, you always have great ideas. So, maybe this Valentine’s Day, we’ll have to do something different.
Getaways are nice! Good luck selling the house! Multiple offers!!!
Thanks so much for the great tips for Vday!!
No problem Melissa
my wife and daughter get what they want because they tell me.. lol
Haha! I like that
I LOVE all those ways to manipulate…funny! And those boxers…WOW!
Haha! Thanks Deanna!
Our anniversary is a week before Valentine’s Day (yeah…that one wasn’t the best thought out), so we always just lump the two together. A nice dinner, maybe a movie, a trip to the zoo….we’re pretty broke, but we always manage to have fun.
That’s right Isabella! You don’t need tons of money to have fun
i think gift certificates are the bomb best way to make sure everyone gets what they want
That’s right! Especially one for a design consultation
Oh, I fear some of those hints would backfire on me…because he’s actually in the market for a new recliner and loves a good pair of shoes for HIMSELF, HA!
Uh oh! Then you best stay away from shopping then. Lol
I love these tips! So clever and funny! That romantic getaway picture is gorgeous. I would love that!
Thank you! I had fun putting the list together
Subtle doesn’t work with my husband. I have to tell him exactly what to get.
Lol. That’s usually the case Pam
I just adore those sexy boxer briefs, lol! I would love a room makeover but this year I have asked my hub for a Coach purse.
I hope you get your coach purse Lawna! Did you hint or just asked outright?
You are extremely creative. I told my wife many years ago…we don’t get hints…just tell us:=)
Thanks Jim! You are right about the no hinting thing.
ohhh Veronica, you are a sneaky one aren’t you. Thanks for letting me know the tricks of the trade, now i will keep an eye open for them when Daniele tries to pull these off.
Oh no! I let the cat out the bag. You seem to cater to her every desires anyway, so I don’t think you need to worry
My SO and I don’t really celebrate V-Day (mostly because I don’t really like it lol). Not sure what I would manipu…i mean ask nicely for this year lol
Lol. Maybe more buttons Marielle! Or a pair of love owls
We do not typically celebrate V-Day, we are also getting ready to move so not expecting anything different this year. I would love a room make over.
That would be nice after the move.
Hilarious! I always think I’m dropping subtle hints, but my hubby tends to like directness. Otherwise, he won’t get a clue!
Subtle hints just don’t work with my husband. He needs it in writing or it just doesn’t get done. Calling his mama though…. hmmm. Something I haven’t thought of yet hahaha!
Great ideas and tips! I love the romantic getaway pic. I think I’ll have to do it even without a date, lol
Thank you for sharing these awesome ideas!! Especially since I know my husband is one of your readers as well…:) Love the pictures and the write up:) Thanks:)
Great tips. I haven’t even thought about Valentine’s Day yet. I will have to make sure my husband sees this.
I honestly dont put pressure on my spouse for valentines. I rather him show affection and thoughtful all year around!
We do not really bother with all that normally just go out for a nice meal that makes me happy enough
Hubs spoils me to much the rest of the year lol
Love the suggestions! Thanks
Oh boy, I wish I could have a room makeover for Valentine’s day, that would be nice. I don’t know what to get for my sweetheart yet.
Love your pictures and great gift ideas!
Hmmm…a room makeover is a great idea! I would love to redo my kitchen!
My wife is creating Pinterest Boards of “things we wants”…not to subtle I guess. Great pics here!
Great ideas for Valentines Day if I say so myself. Will have to give hubby a few hints but he tends to ignore them.
