Thanksgiving Day gives us a great opportunity to relax and reflect on the past year and the year ahead. Many have commited to acknowledging daily through the entire month of November all the things that they are thankful for – family, friends, careers, health, resources, you name it…..we have alot to be thankful for. I came across this quote that expresses my feelings exactly.
Expressing our gratitude regardless of our circumstances leaves no room for self-pity and selfishness, so let’s practice this discipline of being thankful this Thanksgiving Day and beyond.
Enjoy time with family and friends cooking up a storm, and of course enjoying the delicious turkey dinner. Mine will be spent with my good friend Aimee and my children and mostly relaxing with a glass…or two of organic wine
My dinner will look more like this, so no all day cooking for me and the family. I am a mostly-raw vegan and I eat wild salmon occasionally. My side dishes will be baked sweet potatoes, kale salad with fresh organic fruits and for dessert my famous homemade nutty balls treats. Simple ingredients – raw cashews and organic medjool dates with a tiny bit of water mixed in a food processor until mushy and then rolled into balls…..delicious!! Still working out a good name for these sweet treats
Here’s one of my biggest blessings who I will always be thankful for…..My son Joshua. He turns 12 today, November 27. They grow up so fast! :-) We will spend the day doing whatever his little heart desires……within reason of course. I’m pretty sure we will be going to GameStop
Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone! May your day be filled with family, friends, food, fun and wine!
