One of the best ways to breathe new life into an old piece of furniture is by changing the knobs or pulls to cool new and updated ones. Like a well put together outfit, knobs and pulls are like the jewelry that makes cabinetry and furniture look polished and complete.
Finding the right knob or pull whether it is for a piece of furniture or cabinetry can be a bit overwhelming. There are literally tons of sources available online with millions of options at reasonable prices. Stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s will stock basic styles to make it quick and easy, but if you like a bit of “bling” (do people still say that?), then take a look at some of my favorite sources.

I love all the pulls that you selected, makes me want to scout for old pieces! Do you have any favorite paints or varnishes that you recommend?
Hi Juanita, thanks for your question. I love Benjamin Moore colors for cabinetry…the gray tones especially 2126-30 Anchor Gray, OC-68 Distant Gray are a couple that I’ve used and love in the past. If I want to go a bit glam or elegant, I go with Ralph Lauren Regent metallics or Modern Masters Metallics available at Benjamin Moore. For stains, I like the Wood classics collections from Sherwin Williams. I like SW3133P Rustic Gray or SW 3135P New Ebony for a darker finish.
