Recently I have been shopping for a front door to replace the builder grade version that comes standard with my new home. My home has a rustic French Country feel, and so I am looking for a beautiful rustic knotty alder with glass insert and wrought iron details. They are so rich and beautiful and perfect for my home!
I have been crushing on these doors:
My friends over at Shapira Builders in Arizona have a great selection that I love!
My search for the perfect front door has also led me to these colorful painted beauties. Although my Homeowners Association would have a fit if I dared to go this route, I can still admire them. Here are a few colorful front doors that will make you want to pop out your brush and paint can!
Orange is my favorite color, so this one is a favorite
If nothing else, these doors sure put a smile on your face. Quite a first impression! I always imagine that the homeowners are pretty happy people, definitely with colorful personalities and march to the beat of their own drums. After all, some of these brilliant colors are found in nature, and they add such great curb appeal. Go for it!
Would you dare to paint your front door in any of these bright colors? What color would it be? Please leave me a comment below – the bolder the better!
Here’s an article from House Beautiful Magazine that offers some great suggestions for front door colors. They are not all bold and colorful; so there’s something for everyone! Click here to view article

How sweet
You’re welcome!
I never thought of it that way before, but you’re right — a front door absolutely helps make a first impression.
I like the look of these doors on the front of a home..
Color can really make or break a door, and by extension a house. I’m more traditional in my decor, but some of the color schemes above are really nice!
We have a deep burgandy front door. Love colors on doors
Such pretty doors. I like the ones that you are crushing on especially the third one.
The main door of your home tell many things
The doors are wonderful. I often admire doors on homes and wish I could replace or repaint mine (the horrors of an HOA). I am enjoying your new door vicariously!!
What a difference a colored door can make. I was able to get permission from the HOA to paint my door something other than HOA brown!!
It’s definitely one of the first things you look at when you pull up to the house..
I think that the door must be consistent with the character of your home. These doors look great because they go with the home. Colored doors give your home instant appeal though.
I too would love a colored door..a red or a pink one would certainly be fine by me
I love the array of doors you have featured here. You have good taste and an expert eye.

Color! Oh color, how it taunts me! haha
It’s sooooo funny because the THOUGHT of painting with such a vibrant color scares the heck out of me (and probably most people), but when you see the pics, it’s a no-brainer how fabulous it is
That’s why I definitely need someone like you to just come in and do stuff for me… don’t let me have any decision-making, haha
