Congratulations to Tessanne Chin, Winner of The Voice

If you’ve been following The Voice on NBC this season, you will undoubtedly be familiar with the Jamaican singing sensation that is Tessanne Chin. The Reggae songstress took a leap of faith and decided to cross over into International music territory and pulled it off beautifully! Here is her Blind Audition. 4 Chairs turned with all judges fighting for her. Wow, what a moment that must have been for her!

Throughout the competition she has proven to be a consistent powerhouse, yet she still embodies grace and humility and definitely talent. The girl can sing! :-)

As a Jamaican myself, it warms my heart to see one of our own make it to the top. We are known for our resilience and willingness to work hard, and she is no exception. She has done our small nation proud, and I’m honored to take a day off from all things interior design, and feature her today on my Blog.

Jamaicans, including myself launched an international voting campaign only rivaled by the U.S. Presidential race, resulting in her climbing to the number one spot on iTunes…. twice and of course, her big win tonight!! The picture below is the scene in Jamaica, as many popular venues hosted The Voice Viewing Parties of Super Bowl proportions.

The entire island of Jamaica, and Jamaicans abroad were rooting for her, and voted like crazy after her performances each week. She is always so humbled and thankful to see that we were supporting her 100%. Follow her on Twitter

The finale tonight must have been even more special for Tessanne as she collaborated with Celine Dion for one of her performances. It doesn’t get much better than that! Her mentor/coach Adam Levine, can be seen each week beaming with pride and all other kinds of emotions as Tessanne belts out every song she’s given including Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”. That’s like sacred ground in the music world, but Tessanne held her own and I’m sure Whitney herself would have been proud. Here it is for your listening pleasure

I am so very proud of this young lady, and I wish her much success as she embarks on the next phase of her music career.

I hope she needs a Decorator soon. Tessanne, hook a sista up! :-)
