It depends. Some designers don’t even procure furniture for their clients and work strictly on a consultation basis. I love furniture too much to go that route, so I do purchase at wholesale and resell to my clients with a markup which yields a profit after freight, storage and delivery. I would say most designers make their money from their actual design fees and not the products they resell. Hope that answers your question
