What are your plans for 4th of July? Do you have family traditions that you follow every year? Maybe a family picnic or a day on the lake, or watching fireworks? Whatever it is, hope you all have a wonderful day!

I’ll be spending the day catching up on sleep, and the evening with the kids watching fireworks ……maybe even enjoy a few adult beverages ;-)

Speaking of adult beverages, click here for a list of 28 summer cocktails with recipes from Delish.com. I think I’m going to try the Berry Mojito…yum!

  1. Happy 4th of July to YOU! We are with my family in Newport Beach, California…HUGE block party with water slides, watermelon eating contest, freeze dance, jumpies, taco truck, etc. Walk out to the bay at night to see the fireworks. It’s a fun and perfect day!

  2. Happy 4th of July to YOU! We are in Newport Beach, California with my family. There is a HUGE block party every year…with bouncy houses, watersides, watermelon eating contests, a taco truck, etc. At night we walk to the bay to watch fireworks…a perfect day!

  3. My husband and I will take a day off for ourselves. May go up to Scottsdale to spend the night at one of the resorts and have dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

  4. It’s too hot for us to do much outside (even though last year we did go fishing early in the morning). The plans this year are to stay indoors, probably watch the concert and fireworks from Washington DC on PBS, and stay hydrated. Maybe they should change the celebration to January 4th for us desert dwellers! Happy Birthday, America!!

  5. Hello i met you at the coke machine in the hotel and your son couldn’t decide on what type of Pop the wanted I think you’re very beautiful and I want to say more to you but I was afraid to I hope you’re enjoying your new house would love to talk to you sometime

  6. As a child we would attend a minor league baseball game (Denver didn’t have a major league team when I was a little girl) and they always followed the game with fireworks. One of my favorite memories was of a man named Mr Oser. He owned a company that was eventually purchased by Orkin. Mr. Oser was very wealthy, and he would come to the Bears baseball game in old clothes, smoke a big stogie, sit in the cheap seats, and then drive away in his Cadillac! (heck, if you were under 16 you could attend every home game for $1 a season!) The only games that were sold out were when they had fireworks. One 4th of July the stadium was filled, and those of us “regulars” who had unreserved seats were un-seated by people who actually paid for them! So Mr. Oser purchased a box (yes a box) and we all went and sat down next to the field to watch the game and fireworks! RIP Mr. Oser.

  7. We don’t really have any family traditions for 4th of July but I plan on cooking out on the grill, let the kids play outside and then later on tonight watch the fireworks the neighbors will light off! Hope you have a great 4th!
